Learn more about the application process

Welcome Message

Thank you for your interest in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School. Selecting an independent school whose mission and offerings best fit the needs of your child and your family is one of the most important decisions a family can make. We are delighted that you have decided to learn more about our wonderful school.

Our focus at St. Stephen’s is to develop each child’s natural curiosity into a lifelong ability to think critically, creatively, and to love the experience of learning. We provide students with the academic, ethical and spiritual foundation to succeed in a diverse and changing world.

We hope that you enjoy exploring our website. Of course, the best way to discover if St. Stephen’s is the right school environment for your student is to visit our campus. I invite you to join us for an Open House in the fall.

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your family. Please know that I am here to help and make the admission process as simple as possible. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Warm regards,

Cathie D’Arcy
Director of Admission

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School is a joyful place full of traditions that unite our families and challenge our students over a broad range of academics and lively activities.

St. Stephen’s is a principal outreach of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. There are small class sizes at all grade levels. There are two sections per grade level through Grade 5. We welcome students of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin.

Admission to the school is designed to welcome all people and encourage them to join a life of learning, service, and compassion.  Race or creed do not impact student admission. Preference is given to siblings of current students and parishioner families.

A parishioner family is one that, for at least one year before applying to St. Stephen's, has:

  • been regular in attendance at worship at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, as determined by the Rector
  • been active, pledging members of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church for at least one year before applying to St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School and have made a financial pledge for the upcoming year
  • been actively involved in at least one volunteer ministry or program in the church

At St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School we actively seek students and families from varied racial, ethnic, cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. We are a diverse community and value each other's beliefs through an understanding of our commonalities and differences. Our commitment to the Episcopal tradition has generated a school culture that honors tradition, excellence, and the individual gifts of each of its students.
